SELLER NOTES

We recently acquired this incredible 1970 Oldsmobile Cutlass S 455 Restomod, and it is a professionally built, one-of-a-kind street machine with all the right upgrades and additions.

Power comes from the Rocket Motor that is 455 cubic inches of fun that was professionally rebuilt just a few years ago, and lovingly maintained since then. It has been modified with forged pistons, aluminum cylinder heads, street camshaft, Edelbrock carburetor and intake, MSD Billet distributor and box, and a complete custom exhaust flowing thru Hooker thermal coated headers into a dual exhaust system.

Power gets back to the rear wheels thanks to a Lokar shifted 200R4 automatic overdrive transmission which keeps fuel economy in check on long cruises, but lets you freely explore your fun side thanks to a beefy 3.42 POSI unit to handle those red light launches.

The engine compartment itself is professionally painted and detailed with chrome valve covers, OEM air cleaner, chrome alternator, J and B polished and ball-milled battery cover, and an A/C compressor cover shroud custom fabricated out of aluminum sheet stock.

Underneath, the frame and most of the chassis components also show incredibly well, thanks to being either powder-coated or painted to match the cars exterior theme. Everything that could be was rebuilt with poly bushings, and a 2-inch set of drop spindles were added along with BMR lowering springs to give it a fantastic stance without compromising ride-quality. Stopping is handled by fully refreshed power disc system, and a BeCool custom radiator works in conjunction with a massive electric fan and hi-flow water pump to keep things cool.

Coachwork handled the fabrication of the completely custom dove grey and black upholstery, including twin bucket seats, custom center console, custom door panels, package tray, billet dash inserts and console top, door handles, window cranks, billet LOKAR shifter, Sport GT steering wheel, aftermarket Autometer gauges to manage vitals, fire extinguisher, and a classic style AM/FM stereo radio. For car shows, they even hid a CD/DVD/MP3 player in the glove box with a Sony X amp in the custom upholstered trunk with outdoor speaker system, subs, and even a TV!

The history of the car tracks it from Arizona and then to Illinois where it treated to the complete frame off restoration. Paint and body were handled by John Dornik in Oglesby, Illinois. The incredibly deep PPG Viper Blue was combined with a GM White Pearl. After completion, a blue tint accent custom airbrush accent with rockets and stars was done by The Custom Shop in Flanagan, Illinois. During the fabrication, the door handles were shaved, Ram Air hood installed with chrome hinges, and a 442 rear deck lid spoiler added. In addition, a new chrome OEM rear bumper was installed, along with new side glass, vent windows, and regulators/fuzzies.

It is dialed in, proven, and I personally have driven it over 150 miles in a mix of Interstate, local, and city traffic situations without any issues. It doesn't run hot, A/C blows cold, all the gauges work (although the speedo is about 6 mph slower than GPS), headlights work, high beams work, parking lights work, turn signals and flashers work, high and low wipers work, and the horn works. It starts, runs, and idles wonderfully and sounds great with a throaty rumble at idle. Braking is firm and sure, and there are no vibrations or pulling under hard braking either. Power is smooth and sure, and it cruises along with ease while still being ready to pass someone at the mash of the gas pedal.
